Microblading is a PMU technique that consists of creating hair-stroke patterns that mimic the natural eyebrow hair with the use of a manual disposable handheld tool.

Microblading is best suited for normal to dry skin types.

Microshading (AKA Powder Brows/Ombre Brows) is a PMU technique used to achieve a soft, powdered look, most often with a gradient effect (starts lighter at the front of the brow and gradually darkens towards the tail), which resembles the effect of makeup filled in brows, or pixelated powder-like dots. Microshading can be performed either using a manual shading tool (mostly used in combination with microblading) or a machine shading tool (widely used both in combination with microblading and as a stand alone technique).

Microshading is suited for all skin types, and it is the best option for combination or oily skin types, as well as thinner or mature skin.

Ultimately the choice between microblading, microshading, or any combination of the two depends on your skin type, desired brow look, and personal preferences. During consultation, I will help you determine the best option for you based on your individual needs.

We start each PMU appointment with a thorough consultation, during which we assess your facial features, skin tone, and personal preferences to recommend the most flattering brow shape and PMU technique for you.

We select the color of the pigment that matches your natural eyebrow hair to ensure the most natural color that blends flawlessly with your brow hair (**unless you choose to tint your eyebrow hair indefinitely, in which case the color is selected to match the tinted eyebrow hair color).

The intensity of the color is customized based on your personal preference and the chosen technique.

Anyone wanting to enhance the appearance of their natural brows could benefit greatly from brow Permanent Makeup, including but not limited to:
– People suffering from alopecia or any other condition causing hair loss;
– People with sparse eyebrow hair;
– People with minor eyebrow asymmetry;
– People with an active lifestyle that find regular eyebrow makeup unsuitable with their daily activities;
– People with busy schedules that have limited time to apply regular makeup daily;
– People struggling to apply regular eyebrow makeup;
– Anyone that is unhappy with their brows, or wants to slightly change or enhance the shape of their natural brows;

To ensure best healed results, this is how you should prepare your skin for the procedure:
– Avoid picking, tweezing, waxing, and performing electrolysis one week before the procedure;
– Avoid tanning two weeks prior to the service – sunburn skin can not be worked on;
– Avoid any type of aggressive and abrasive facials 2 weeks prior to the procedure;
– Avoid working out the day of the procedure;
– Avoid getting botox (or any other injectable muscle relaxer in the face) 3 weeks prior to the procedure;
– Avoid taking Fish Oil or Vitamin E one week prior to the procedure (they are natural blood thinners);
– Do not tint your eyebrows 3-5 days prior to the procedure. We have to chose the pigment that matches your natural eyebrow hair, unless you plan on tinting your brows indefinitely;
– Avoid caffeine the day of your appointment;
– Avoid alcohol and blood thinners (such as Aspirin and Ibuprofen) 24-48 hours before your treatment.

First PMU session takes 3,5 hours. That includes:
 – The initial consultation during which we discuss your eyebrow goals, preferred shape and color, and look at any inspiration pictures you may have.
– Shaping your brows – this is when I map out and draw your eyebrow shape using a pencil. I will then show you the shape, and discuss with you any adjustments if necessary. Once you are happy with the shape we move to the next step.
– The numbing process – this is when I apply a topical anesthetic to minimize pain and discomfort.
– The PMU application process – this part takes about an hour and a half to two hours. Topical anesthetic is reapplied throughout this step of the process.

The pain and discomfort during the PMU treatment is minimal. Topical anesthetic is applied to the area prior to starting and throughout the treatment to make you even more comfortable.

Minor swelling and redness is common after the treatment, and it should subside within a few hours or by the next day. You will be able to resume your daily engagements immediately after the treatment, however you will be presented with a detailed list of aftercare instructions that may interfere with some activities for the next 7-14 days until the brows are completely healed (that takes 10-12 days for most people). Please plan accordingly with your ability to:
– keep the brows dry during the healing;
– avoid excessive sun exposure;
– avoid activities that make you sweat excessively;
– avoid saunas and hot tubs.

Touch-up appointments are typically recommended every 12-18 months to maintain the color and shape of the brows. This ensures long lasting results and keep your brows looking fresh and defined.

Touch ups are sometimes needed 5 to 10 weeks after the initial session. It is common after the first session to have spots where the pigment does not retain 100%, especially if after care instructions are not followed properly, and that can be easily corrected with a touch up.

I take a conservative approach to your first PMU treatment, so if after your first PMU appointment you want to make adjustments such as adding saturation, density, darkening the color, making adjustments to the shape, this can be addressed at your touch up appointment.

PMU can last for different periods of time depending on skin type, skin care products used, age and lifestyle. For instance, it lasts longer for someone with dry or normal skin type than for someone with oily skin. Using products that accelerate cellular turn over, such as retinoids for instance, can shorten the life of your PMU, as they accelerate fading. Regularly applying sunscreen, on the other hand, can prolong the life of your PMU.
Although PMU, unlike regular a tattoo, fades and becomes less vibrant over time, it never completely disappears. Touch ups are recommended every 6-18 months, or whenever the color fades by 50% or more, to maintain the vibrant color and freshly groomed appearance.

If you already have any type of eyebrow permanent makeup or tattoo, please submit a few pictures for evaluation to 253-433-9097. I will examine the shape of the brows, assess the symmetry, and the degree of fading from the previous work, and I will let you know if and how I can work with what you have.
Picture taking tips for a more accurate evaluation:
– Make sure the pictures are clear and taken in good lighting;
– Both sides of your face should be evenly lit, achieve this by having the light source directly behind the camera.
– To increase photo definition/quality, take a fairly “close up” photo and consider having someone else take the photo for you;
– Make sure you are perfectly facing at the camera, no tilting or rotating your face;
– Have your eyes open and look at the camera while the picture is taken;
– Make sure you are wearing no makeup.

Avoid getting permanent makeup if you:

– Are under the age of 18;
