About Dina
Owner and PMU artist at iBrow Space
My name is Dina, I am from Moldova, a small country in Eastern Europe. I was always passionate about science, music, art, fashion, design and especially makeup. Growing up, I loved drawing, painting, and sketching dresses designs. I was quite talented, but I didn’t see a bright future doing fashion design in my home country, so I decided to become a pharmacist. I enjoyed being a pharmacist, and it was quite fulfilling, but I felt like something was missing.
I got my first certificate in makeup artistry while in medical college, and I loved doing makeup for myself and my friends, but I never considered making a career out of it.
When I moved to the US
When I moved to the US in 2015, I had my chance for a fresh start. I got an associates degree in hospitality and tourism management, but it wasn’t quite what I wanted either. I felt like I needed an outlet to express my artistic and creative nature.
My personal history with eyebrows
I have a personal history with brows… As many of us did in the 2000s, I over plucked my brows to fit the ongoing trend of ultra-thin eyebrows. As the natural eyebrows made their way back, I wanted thicker eyebrows, which I no longer had due to over plucking. I tried to fix that problem by getting an eyebrow tattoo, which, to my biggest regret, turned out to be extremely unflattering. I instantly regretted getting the tattoo, and attempted to fix the shape with cover up tattoos, camouflage, and makeup, but no matter what I tried, it wasn’t working…
After 3 years of having a horrible tattoo on my face, I decided to remove it with laser. Laser tattoo removal is a lengthy process, and it could get expensive depending on how many procedures are required to completely remove the ink, but I was committed to getting rid of my tattoo, and I went through with it.
How I decided to become a brow permanent makeup artist
In my ongoing search for a fulfilling career, I decided to try brow permanent makeup. I embarked on a 6 months course to become a permanent makeup artist, and while being unsure whether it was what I wanted to do long term, I tried my best to master the required skills. Halfway through my course, although extremely reluctant due to my previous unpleasant experience with eyebrow tattoo, I decided to get microblading, because I wanted to experience it on myself before I ever performed it on anyone else.
We all have moments we look back on and realize that in an instant our life was changed forever. For me, that moment was when I got to see my microbladed brows in the mirror!
It changed my life forever! I experienced on my own skin the power of eyebrow transformation – from an unflattering tattoo that was ruining my face to now beautifully shaped eyebrows, complimenting and enhancing my facial features while looking so natural!
I knew then and there 100% that THAT was what I wanted to do – bring people the same joy and confidence I got! Not only was I extremely pleased with my microblading results, but I knew that my perfectionism, passion, hard work and dedication could help others achieve the same outcome – get the eyebrows of their dreams!
Why choose me as your permanent makeup artist
I had my very own unsuccessful eyebrow tattoo experience, so I know that quality is paramount when it comes to permanent makeup! Being the perfectionist that I am, I invested extra time and energy into getting the best training and work experience, and becoming the best permanent makeup artist I can be!
Training and work experience
I finished 6 months of training, and received my first certification in permanent makeup in November of 2021 from Beauty Angels Academy – one of the top permanent makeup academies in the whole US and Europe.
Right after that, I worked as a permanent makeup artist for over a year under the guidance and mentorship of my master trainer, improving my skills, taking additional courses and working with hundreds of happy clients.
Additional certifications I got:
– Bloodborne pathogens certification;
– Barbicide certification;
– Barbicide Covid-19 certification;
– Advanced Brow Mapping;
– Powder and Fusion brows.
